Larry Payne, D.Min., MA, LPC, provides counseling and spiritual direction in Lubbock, Texas. He holds degrees from Oklahoma Baptist University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and West Texas A&M University. He served as senior pastor of churches in Oklahoma and Texas and as Director of Spiritual Care at BSA Health System, Amarillo, Texas. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor with training in grief, trauma recovery, depression, anxiety, and spiritual distress.
Larry has published numerous pieces, served on boards of religious institutions, supervised seminary students, and led missions around the world. He has led JourneyStrong Ministry since 2002 and the Tracks for the Journey Network since 2019.
He enjoys running, digging in family genealogy, and travel with his wife, Jan. They share as much adventure as possible with their active tribe of four grown children and eight grandchildren.
